This will make a firm handle that does not need to be stuffed. Sew cast off edge and half of side seam of top piece leaving a hole to stuff through. Thread a piece of yarn through a jingle bell and tie it to the inside of the top piece leaving a large enough loop so that the bell can sit in the center of the stuffing. Stuff around the bell so that it sits in the center of the top piece. Finish sewing the side seam and draw together the top stitches. Secure ends. Sew ends of handle to bottom of top piece. Jingle bell will only rattle not jingle because of the stuffing muffling its sound. Colour combinations: Use two, three or even more colours. In the sample we made we changed colours on Rows 5-8 and again on Rows 13- 16. On the handle there were 4 rows of main colour , 2 rows of contrast, repeated throughout. Try using a different colour every 2 rows for the entire rattle. Copyright (c)1998-1999 Jane's Wool Studio
